Day 1: Flight

Take an overnight flight from Miami.


Day 2: Amsterdam

Arrive in Amsterdam this morning. Visit to Haarlem and Grote Markt (central square). Free time to enjoy sites in this area such as the Corrie Ten Boom Museum (ticket not included). End the day with a one hour cruise on the canals of Amsterdam. Transfer to the hotel where you will have dinner and stay for two nights.


Day 3: Amsterdam

This morning there will be free time and a transfer to the Anne Frank House. It is not possible to obtain tickets in advance so you will have to purchase them on the spot. Next we visit the Rijksmuseum where over 8000 items are on display highlighting Dutch history and art with some done by Rembrandt. Visit to Keukenhof Gardens to see the massive spring park that is full of flowers. Dinner is on your own tonight.


Day 4: Amsterdam to Berlin

Today we transfer from Amsterdam to Berlin by train. We will arrive into Berlin train station and then transfer to the hotel. If time allows there will be a driving tour of the city. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Berlin.


Day 5: Meet the main group

This morning we will go to the airport to pick up the others and start the Berlin city tour. (this is day 2 of the main tour)

Day 1: Flight

Take an overnight flight from Miami.


Day 2: Berlin

Arrive in Berlin this morning. We will enjoy a tour of the city. The first stop will be to the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie crossing point. Continue to the Brandenburg Gate which was completed in 1791 and today stands for peace and unity. Transfer to the hotel in Berlin for dinner and overnight stay.


Day 3: Wittenberg and Leipzig

We continue the Reformation Trail today with a visit to Wittenberg where Martin Luther lived and taught for 36 years. You will see the Castle Church door where Luther posted his 95 Theses, giving birth to the Reformation and the Town Church where he preached. We visit the Luther House which is the greatest museum of Reformation History in the world. Continue to Leipzig to visit the St. Thomas Church which was the home church of such great composers as Bach and Wagner. It has one of the oldest and most famous boys choirs as well. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Leipzig. We will stay her for two nights.


Day 4: Erfurt and Eisleben

This morning we spend time in Erfurt where Luther attended the university. A highlight will be the Augustinian Monastery where he spent his early years as a monk. Leaving Erfurt we visit Eisleben which is noted among the most significant in Luther's history; he was born here in 1483 and died here in 1546 and old manuscripts indicate that he felt a special affinity to Eisleben. We will see the house of his birth and death, St. Andrews Church where he preached his last sermon, the Luther Monument, and St. Anne's Church with the famous Biblical scenes hewn in stone and many other sites. We return to Leipzig for dinner at a local restaurant and then overnight at the hotel.


Day 5: Dresden and Prague

This morning we have some free time to explore Berlin on our own. Next we depart southwest for the border of Germany and the Czech Republic. Before arriving at the border we stop for a short tour of Dresden. One of Germany’s most beautiful cities, Dresden was virtually destroyed during the night of 13/14 February 1945, when Allied Forces mounted a vast carpet-bombing raid on the city. We will see the city center where meticulous restoration work is in progress to return the city center to its former glory. We have lunch and free time before traveling south to Prague. In Prague we stop at Charles Bridge for a view of the city on each side of the river and time for photos. Check into the hotel where you will have dinner and a two night stay.


Day 6: Prague and Terezin Camp

Enjoy a morning tour of Prague’s Old Town with a local guide and a one hour cruise on the Vltava River. This afternoon travel to the Terezin Memorial and Concentration Camp where you will see the small fortress, ghetto museum, and Magdeburg Barracks. Listen to the stories of the people that were brought here and the atrocities that took place. Return to Prague. Dinner is on your own tonight.


Day 7: Bratislava and Budapest

Transfer from Prague to Bratislava, Slovakia. You will have some free time for lunch and to explore on your own. Take an afternoon transfer to Budapest. Check into the hotel where you will have dinner and an overnight stay. You can choose to take a cruise on the Danube River tonight on your own to see the city when it is lit up.


Day 8: Budapest and Vienna

Our morning sightseeing tour includes visit to Castle Hill area with outside views of the Royal Palace, then the Fisherman’s Bastion, a Medieval Castle whose walls were guarded by the guild of fishermen with a remarkable view of the Danube and colorful city. In the afternoon we make our way west entering Austria to the Musical Capital of Vienna. Check into the hotel where you will stay for two nights. Dinner is on your own tonight.


Day 9: Vienna

Following breakfast we visit one of Europe’s most renowned cathedrals, St Stephens. We then have a panoramic city tour viewing Vienna’s most famous historic sights including the Ringstrabe, with its magnificent buildings, the State Opera House, Parliament, etc. We then visit Hofburg Palace, residence of the Habsburgs and home of the famous Spanish Riding School. The highlight of touring today will be a visit to Schöenbrunn Palace and the royal apartments. Dinner will be at the hotel tonight and then a chance to purchase an optional evening excursion that includes a transfer to the Vienna Opera House and tickets to the musical event that is taking place at that time.


Day 10: Home

Transfer to the Vienna airport for the flight home.
