Price Includes: All motor coach and land transportation, sightseeing, admissions, services of tour director and driver, lodging, meals as specified in tour itinerary, taxes, gratuities to bellhops and waiters at included meals.


Not Included: Cost of obtaining passports or visas, laundry, meals, beverages or sightseeing not included in the itinerary, travel insurance, gratuity to guide, driver, communication charges, & excess baggage fees. Port charges and gratuities to crew are not included on cruises.


Airport transfers are included only when airfare is purchased from Pilgrim Tours. Taxi service is available for those purchasing their airfare elsewhere.


Deposit Required: $300 per person will reserve your place. A $100 service fee will be charged for cancellation at any time in addition to our normal payment and cancellation policy.

Day 1: Arrive in Washington, DC

This is truly the All-American Holiday, complete with the heritage of our nation's capital, the historic charm of Williamsburg and the Civil War countryside in Pennsylvania. Arring in Washington D. C., our lodging this evening will be in Arlington, Virginia.


Day 2: Mount Vernon & Williamsburg

As we depart Washington, DC, we visit Mount Vernon, home of George and Martha Washington. A walking tour of the home and grounds provides a walk back in time. We arrive in Williamsburg late afternoon. A traditional tavern dinner sets the mood for our stay in historic Williamsburg. (2 nights)


Day 3: Colonial Williamsburg

Williamsburg is the largest living history museum in the country and one of America's most popular attractions. Stroll streets dating back to the 1700s. Converse with residents playing the roles of their ancestors as they go about their daily activities exactly as they did more than 200 years ago. It's an exciting glimpse into the early days of our nation.


Day 4: Carter's Grove and Monticello

This morning we visit historic Carter's Grove. Traveling north from Williamsburg we come to Charlottesville where we enjoy lunch at Michie Tavern. We then visit Monticello. This magnificent home of Thomas Jefferson is considered one of the most beautiful estates in Virginia. After a great day of touring we stay the night in Charlottesville, Virginia. Breakfast and lunch, Hampton Inn, Charlottesville, Virginia.


Day 5: Gettysburg

Our route today takes us to one of the most important sites of the Civil War - Gettysburg Battlefield. It is here that the tide of war turned. A national parks guide takes us on a tour of the battlefield where Lincoln later made his memorable address. We stay overnight in the little town of Gettysburg. Breakfast and dinner, Best Western Gettysburg Hotel 1797, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.


Day 6: Washington, DC

This morning we return to Washington, DC. Sightseeing of our nation's capital begins with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery. View the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the new Women in Military Service Memorial. Historic Alexandria adds another dimension to our sightseeing. Breakfast, Hyatt Regency or Marriott Courtyard, Arlington, Virginia (2 nights).


Day 7: Washington, DC

History is being made every day in Washington, DC. We'll visit the White House or the Capitol Building where laws are created. On Capitol Hill we'll visit the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court. See the stirring Jefferson, Lincoln, Kennedy, Korean, Vietnam and the FDR Memorials. The afternoon is yours to freely explore the Smithsonian with its treasury of American history. Tonight your Tour Director hosts a farewell dinner for new friends with shared memories of our national heritage. An illumination tour tops off our visit to Washington, DC. Dinner.


Day 8: Virginia and Home

You are free to visit more sights before transferring to the airport for a flight home at your convenience.
