Price Includes: 3 nights hotel accommodations, 3 full breakfast buffets, 1 lunch at Mt. Vernon, 3 dinners, one way cruise on Potomac Spirit to Mt. Vernon, Tour mobile tickets, theater tickets, admissions and guide services as stated in itinerary, deluxe motorcoach transportation, baggage handling, guide gratuities, taxes and meal gratuities.
Airport transfers are included only when airfare is purchased from Pilgrim Tours. Taxi service is available for those purchasing their airfare elsewhere.
Deposit Required: $300 per person will reserve your place. A $100 service fee will be charged for cancellation at any time in addition to our normal payment and cancellation policy.
Day 1: Smithsonian Institutions
We head out today to our Nation's Capital, the District of Columbia, with our first stop at the Smithsonian Institute complex in the National Mall Area. We will have time on our own until mid afternoon to explore the many Smithsonian Museums and enjoy lunch on our own at one of the cafeterias. Board our coach to check into our hotel right outside of D.C. in Fairfax, VA. This evening after dinner at Bull feathers Capitol Hill Restaurant, our guide will join us for a Night Illumination Tour featuring the Marine Corps War Memorial, Roosevelt Memorial, Jefferson Memorial and a walk through of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Day 2: Touring D.C.
After our breakfast buffet at the hotel, our guide will meet us at the Visitor's Center of Arlington National Cemetery where a Tour mobile will take us through the Cemetery, final resting place for President John F. Kennedy and thousands of soldiers from every major U.S. war. We will stop at Lafayette Square for a photo opportunity of The White House* prior to lunch on our own in Union Station. Our day continues with our guide taking us for a drive down Embassy Row en route to our tour of Washington National Cathedral. We will be treated to dinner at Tony & Joe's in the Georgetown section of D.C. before we are off to Ford's Theatre for their inspiring and patriotic performance of "1776!"
Day 3: Mount Vernon
Today starts off with our boarding the Potomac Spirit with our guide for our leisurely cruise down the Potomac River to Mount Vernon. Get a behind-the-scenes tour to learn more about our first President, George Washington. America's most visited historic house, Mount Vernon houses furnishings which are original pieces acquired by Washington himself. After our tour, enjoy your colonial sampling for lunch at Mount Vernon. We return to D.C. by coach for a Memorial Tour to include the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and the Korean War Veterans Memorial before returning to our hotel. Dinner and entertainment this evening will be at the Lazy Susan Dinner Theater for a rousing stage performance of "Guys and Dolls.
Day 4: Capitol Hill
After checking out of our hotel this morning, our step-on guide will meet us at Union Station for our tour of the outside of the United States Capitol * building followed by a tour of The Library of Congress, the largest national library in the world, and The Supreme Court Building where our third branch of government exercises its mandate to protect and interpret the Constitution. Lunch will be on own in our nation's capital prior to departing for home.
