Day 1
• Departure from USA
Tonight we will board our flight to Budapest.
Day 2
• Arrival in Budapest
Upon arrival in Budapest, we'll meet with our motorcoach and be transferred to your hotel. You will have time to freshen up a little before we have dinner together at the hotel, our home throughout our stay here in Budapest.
Day 3
• Budapest Highlights & Folkloric Show
This morning we will begin our half-day panoramic tour of Budapest's major sights and monuments including the Royal Castle, Fishermen's Bastion, Mathias Church, Citadel, City Park, Hero's Square, the Opera, St. Stephen's, combined with a visit to the impressive house of Parliament. This afternoon will be free for you to explore in Budapest before we make our way to a Danube Folk show. It is here that we will be introduced to Budapest's excellent dancers and musicians as they perform from a repertoire that includes gems from the Hungarian folk dance tradition accompanied by faithfully interpreted Hungarian folk music.
Day 4
• Danube Valley
Optional Full Day Tour - Duration 10 hours
Today's full-day tour of the Danube Valley includes visits to Visegrad Palace, Esztergom Cathedral, and the Baroque artist's village of Szentendre before returning to Budapest in the early evening. Lunch at a local restaurant is included.
Day 5
• Kecskemet, Lajosmizse & Puszta -
Optional Full Day Tour - Duration 8 hours
Spend an unforgettable day today in Puszta as we drive to Kecskemét, take a guided walk, and go further on to Lajosmizse, where we are greeted with a great performance of the famous horsemen followed by a carriage ride through the Puszta, a typical Hungarian lunch is served, accompanied by gypsy music. Return to Budapest and to your hotel.
Day 6
• Tihany Peninsula & Lake Balaton -
Optional Full Day Tour - Duration 9 hours
We will begin our day with a guided tour through the world's largest porcelain factory, founded in 1826, guests are welcome to have a coffee at the "Porcelanium". We will then proceed on to visit the Tihany Peninsula (Natural reserve area, Panorama, Photo stop). Our next stop takes us to the Abbey from the 11th century and the museum. Lunch will be served at a traditional csárda (3-course meal), after lunch we will have a quick rest on the lakeshore before returning to your hotel.
Day 7
• Free Morning, Szentendre, Artist's
Village -
Optional Half Day Tour - Duration 4.5 hours
After free time this morning, we take a boat ride to the picturesque village of the Danube bend. Our first stop will be to visit the Ceramic Museum, then on to the Confectionery Museum where we will have coffee and sample cake in a nice confectionary. We proceed on to the Caprice diamond mini-manufactory and Museum, where you will have a multimedia presentation before coming back by bus to your hotel.
Day 8
• Homeward Bound
Today we are transferred to the airport for our flight back to the US.

Evening Dinner on the Danube:
Duration: 2 hours
A spectacular 2-hour sightseeing tour on the Danube - guests can enjoy the sight of the illuminated capital as you listen to gypsy music. Also enjoy the folk dancers' program of traditional dances, such as the czardas, and the stick or the shepherd dance.
Danube Concert-Symphony Orchestra:
Duration: 3 hours
The Orchestra consists of 60 professional musicians. Their repertoire covers almost every musical style, from Baroque music to the music of the 20th century. Many important Hungarian and foreign guest artists have performed with the orchestra, including Giuseppe de Stefano from Italy, James Galway, a flutist from Ireland or Ray Charles, a jazz star from the United States.
Gypsy Concert:
Duration: 3 hours
The world famous "Rajkó Orchestra" offers a unique musical experience. The tradition of company of young gypsy musicians was established forty years ago - all of its members are under 25 years of age. The exceptional professional skills of the Rajkós are attributed to a special educational method focused on preserving the child's natural aptitude for improvisation an essential precondition of virtuosity.
Opera Gala:
Duration: 3 hours
World famous Hungarian Opera singers perform your favorite opera arias. All performers are members of various opera houses both in Hungary and abroad, together for just a few concerts every year. The singers are accompanied by the Danube Symphony Orchestra (55 musicians).
