Barcelona / Madrid Hub & Spoke


  
Day 1 • Departure from USA
Tonight we will board our flight to Barcelona.

Day 1 • Arrival in Barcelona
Upon arrival we will take a panoramic tour of some of Barcelona's major sights and monuments, including Paseo de Gracia, Batlσ House, the Sagrada Familia church. We will also visit Park Guell and the Picasso Museum before arriving at your hotel. You will have time to freshen up a little before we have dinner together at the hotel.
 
Optional Day Tours

Day 3 • Barcelona & Montserrat
Optional Full Day Tour - Duration 10 hours
Drive through picturesque villages en route to Montserrat. Upon arrival in Montserrat, we will visit Parque Guell, have an outside view of Batllo House, where we will see the Monumento A Colon (Columbus Statue). Our next sight takes us by cable car to the Montserrat Monastery. On our way home we will see the famous Black Virgin in the Royal Basilica. Listen to the oldest children's choir in Europe. Along the return to Barcelona, stop at the harbor, with free time scheduled to visit the Aquarium, restaurants or shops.

Day 4 • Free Day
Today is yours to enjoy on your own in Barcelona.

Day 5 • Barcelona to Madrid
Train Duration - 2 hours
This morning we find ourselves departing for Madrid aboard a scenic train. Upon arrival we will begin our afternoon panoramic tour of Madrid viewing the plazas, avenues, historic quarters and parks. Also see the University campus, Plaza de Toros and Santiago Bernabeu Stadium before returning to your hotel this afternoon. Free time this evening before dinner.

Day 6 • Madrid & Toledo
Optional Full Day Tour - Duration 9 hours
This morning's tour will take us to view the Royal Palace, one of the best preserved in Europe. Then, visit the Prado Museum which houses the best collection of Spanish paintings in he world. This afternoon brings us to Toledo, a museum-city of great artistic beauty. It was once the capital of the country and is one of the oldest cities in Europe. We will visit the most famous monuments such as the Cathedral, St Tome Church, Santa Maria la Blanca synagogue, and San Juan de Los Reyes Church.

Day 7
• Avila, Segovia & Escorial
Optional Full Day Tour - Duration 10.5 hours
Today we will start with a tour of Avila including all the major sights and monuments plus a stop at the cathedral of St. Teresa before moving on to Segovia. This afternoon will bring us to Escorial, where we will visit Philip II's royal pantheon and the monument at the Valley of the Fallen before returning to Madrid this evening. 

Day 8 •
Homeward Bound
Today we are transferred to the airport for our flight back to the US.
