Day 2: Salt Lake City to Jackson

Following continental breakfast at the hotel, we board our deluxe motorcoach for a tour of Salt Lake City and historic Temple Square. Then we'll head north through scenic Cache Valley towards Jackson, Wyoming. Evoking the Old West with its frontier architecture and memories of mountain men, Jackson Hole is a colorful western village. Straddle a saddle at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar or browse the numerous art galleries. Don't miss the world's longest running shootout on Main Street this evening. Overnight at the 49er Inn and Suites. (CB)

Day 3: Grand Tetons / Yellowstone National Park

We begin our day with continental breakfast before boarding the motorcoach and heading for Grand Teton National Park. The Tetons are among the youngest mountains on the continent and known world-wide for their breathtaking beauty. The mountain peaks rise so abruptly that you can look seemingly straight up to the 13,772 foot summit of the Grand Teton, towering a mile-and-a-half above the valley floor. Once we reach the Colter Bay Visitor Center we tour the extensive Native American exhibit there. Then we'll enjoy the beauties of Jackson Lake on a scenic boat cruise. We then continue our day of touring into Yellowstone National Park, where we'll overnight at Old Faithful Lodge. (CB)

Day 4: Yellowstone National Park

Following continental breakfast this morning we are off to explore Yellowstone National Park by coach. America's first national park was founded in 1872 and encompasses the world's most extensive area of geyser activity. Our scheduled stops include Old Faithful, Norris Geyser Basin and Mammoth Hot Springs. Have your camera ready as Yellowstone offers a large variety of wildlife including bears, elk, bison, moose, bighorn sheep and mountain lions. We'll end our day in Gardiner, MT at the Rodeway Inn and Suites. (CB)

Day 5: Gardiner to Missoula

Continental breakfast is again included this morning before departing for Livingston, MT, home of the historic Northern Pacific train depot museum. After touring the museum, we'll board the Montana Daylight for our first day of rail adventure which takes us through the lush green meadows of the Gallatin Valley and over the Continental Divide. Lunch is served onboard the train and features fresh regional cuisine. See the Last Spike marker where east met west in 1883 as the last spike of the Northern Pacific Railroad was driven. The train crosses over several breathtaking trestles before arriving in Missoula, MT, our home for the night. Optional activities include the hand-carved Carousel, located a short walk from our hotel, the Holiday Inn Parkside. (CB,L)

Day 6: Missoula to Sandpoint

After our continental breakfast, it's "All Aboard" for our second day of rail adventure. Relax and enjoy our route through the heart of the Rockies. We pass through beautiful forested landscapes of Western Montana and Northern Idaho as we dine onboard the train. Watch for Bald Eagles as we travel along the shores of Lake Pend Oreille as we near our destination. It is a short scenic coach ride to Schweitzer Mountain Resort, our overnight. A shuttle will be available this evening for dinner and shopping in downtown Sandpoint, home of the retail and outlet showrooms for exclusive catalog merchant, Coldwater Creek. (CB,L)
