Airport transfers are included only when airfare is purchased from Pilgrim Tours. Taxi service is available for those purchasing their airfare elsewhere.


Deposit Required: $300 per person will reserve your place. A $100 service fee will be charged for cancellation at any time in addition to our normal payment and cancellation policy.

Day 1: Arrive Los Angeles

Arrive in Los Angeles by 5:00pm and transfer to your hotel by hotel shuttle bus. Here your Tour Director will be available from 1:00-6:00pm to provide local information for your vacation. After meeting your Tour Director, the remainder of the afternoon and evening is at leisure.


Day 2: Los Angeles - San Diego

We leave Los Angeles behind and travel south to reach the sunny coastal city of San Diego. Here our sightseeing tour includes the Old Town, the Historic Gaslamp Quarter and Balboa Park. Your afternoon is at leisure, perhaps join an optional cruise of San Diego's Harbor passing under the Coronado Bay Bridge. This evening, meet your fellow travelers for a welcome drink hosted by our Tour Director, followed by dinner in a local restaurant. (American breakfast/ Specialty restaurant dinner in San Diego)


Day 3: San Diego - Scottsdale

This morning we drive into Arizona's Sonoran Desert to arrive in Scottsdale, a prosperous desert community of posh resorts and expansive ranches. The mixture of Indian pueblo, Spanish-colonial and "old west" architecture are punctuated by giant Saguaros and well-manicured golf courses. Dinner is at our hotel. (American breakfast/ Dinner)


Day 4: Scottsdale - Montezuma Castle - Grand Canyon

We head towards one of the best preserved Indian cliff dwellings in the Southwest, Montezuma Castle National Monument. Then we continue through Sedona into Oak Creek Canyon admiring the cliffs, rocky gorges and rock formations. Finally, we arrive at Grand Canyon National Park for the night. (American breakfast)


Day 5: Grand Canyon - Navajoland - Lake Powell

This morning we tour the South Rim of the Grand Canyon for astonishing vistas. Then we drive through the land of the Navajos towards Lake Powell. From the shores of Lake Powell we head to our hotel at Bryce Canyon National Park. Here we'll see the marvelous amphitheater of "Hoodoos". (American breakfast)


Day 6: Bryce Canyon - Zion National Park - Las Vegas

Our day starts with a drive to Zion National Park. Then on through Southern Utah to Nevada State, for an afternoon arrival Las Vegas, mecca of gambling, and the capital of jet-set glamour. On arrival perhaps join an optional tour along the "Strip". You'll see the amazing Fremont Street Experience and Caesar's Palace, plus some of the most incredible casino hotels. Day 7: Las Vegas at leisure

After breakfast this morning, enjoy a full day at leisure. Maybe relax by the pool, play golf or shop in the exclusive Forum shops at Caesar's Palace. Or why not take an optional excursion, such as a fascinating helicopter flight? (American breakfast)


Day 8: Las Vegas - Mammoth Lakes*

Today's journey takes us to California through the Mojave Desert. From here we head on to Mammoth Lakes, the popular destination for year-round vacations. We dine at our hotel tonight. (American breakfast/ Dinner) *Note: It is possible that departure dates May 23, May 30, Oct 24 and Nov 7 will overnight in Fresno on Day 8 at the Four Points by Sheraton, where dinner will be at the hotel. This will depend solely on when the Tioga Pass is closed to motorcoach travel by the California Highway Patrol.


Day 9: Mammoth Lakes* - Yosemite

This morning we drive along the scenic Tioga Pass mountain road (when open) into beautiful Yosemite National Park. We see some of the park's most famous sights such as El Capitan, Half Dome and Yosemite Falls. (American breakfast/ Dinner) *Note: It is possible that departures May 23, May 30, Oct 24 and Nov 7 will overnight in Fresno on Day 8 at the Four Points by Sheraton, where dinner will be at the hotel. This will depend solely on when the Tioga Pass is closed to motorcoach travel by the California Highway Patrol.


Day 10: Yosemite - San Francisco

Today we drive from the sloping mountains of central California to the rocky shores of its beautiful coast. Once we arrive in San Francisco we'll discover this exciting city on our sightseeing tour. Steep streets, cable cars and quaint architecture bustle with life and excitement. We'll visit the Golden Gate Park and Fisherman's Wharf. Then later, we depart on our cruise of San Francisco Bay. This evening, we visit North America's largest Chinatown, and enjoy an authentic Chinese dinner at a local restaurant. (American breakfast/ Specialty restaurant dinner in San Francisco)


Day 11: San Francisco - Wine Country Excursion

This morning we depart San Francisco to head north into the famous wine country. Here we'll tour the Napa Valley, where some of California's best wines are grown, and enjoy a wine tasting at one of the wineries as part of our tour. Later, in the afternoon we return to San Francisco where the remainder of your day is at leisure. (American breakfast)


Day 12: San Francisco - Carmel - Monterey

After breakfast, we venture south to Carmel, a retreat frequented by celebrities, writers and home to unique shops. From here we tour along the 17 Mile Drive, famous for its golf courses, beautiful coastline and views of the Lone Cypress and Seal Rock. We also visit the Carmel Mission, where the Spanish missionaries toiled in the 1700's before arriving in Monterey for the night. This evening, we enjoy dinner at Cannery Row. (American breakfast/ Specialty restaurant dinner in Monterey)


Day 13: Monterey - Hearst Castle - Solvang

Today we drive south through California's coastal mountain scenery to the gates of Hearst Castle near San Simeon. Here our tour reveals its amazing treasures worth over 50 million dollars. Later, we arrive in the quaint Danish town, Solvang. Tonight we enjoy a farewell dinner hosted by our Tour Director. (American breakfast/ Specialty restaurant dinner in Solvang)


Day 14: Solvang - Santa Barbara - Depart Los Angeles

Our first stop this morning is a visit to Santa Barbara where we discover traces of Spanish Colonial architecture and culture. From here we continue towards Los Angeles stopping to pay a quick visit to Hollywood and see Mann's Chinese Theatre before our tour comes to an end at Los Angeles International Airport at approximately 2:30pm.
