Day 2: Touring Los Cabos

After breakfast, we'll enjoy a brief morning city tour of San Jose del Cabo - one of Mexico's finest locations. Experience San Jose's Spanish colonial character and learn why local residents take pride in their 18th-century architecture. You will have plenty of time to explore this beautiful region. You may choose to spend the day shopping, take an optional excursion, or just relax on the beach. Experience the thrill of world-class fishing and championship golf. Enjoy the local cuisine and the natural beauty of this area. Breakfast.

Day 3: La Paz to El Fuerte

Early this morning we will transfer to La Paz Airport to catch our flight to Los Mochis. Upon arrival, we'll enjoy breakfast before traveling to Topolobampo Bay for a small boat excursion. Next, it's on to El Fuerte for an afternoon walking tour along its cobblestone streets lined with old colonial mansions. This evening we will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Breakfast and dinner, Hotella Posada or Fuerte Lodge, Los Mochis, Mexico.

Day 4: Copper Canyon by Train to Divisadero

This morning we board the train as we start our journey through the spectacular Copper Canyon. Oversized windows provide the best viewing of this natural wonder. Our trip carries us through tunnels and trestles and around deeply cut gorges that offer unrivaled views. See fantastic waterfalls tumbling hundreds of feet to pools below. A glorious profusion of wildflowers blanket the floor of the canyon. Our final stop on the train is Divisadero. In Divisadero we stay at a hotel built on the rim of the canyon, offering dramatic vistas in the early morning and at sunset. After checking in, you can take a walk with a local guide to see more of the canyon's scenery. We will visit the shy Tarahumara Indians. Still living the primitive lifestyle of their ancestors, these cave dwellers are known for their handiwork. We may see demonstrations of weavers, pottery makers or other interesting craftsmen. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, Hotel Divisadero Barrancas, Divisadero, Mexico.

Day 5: Divisadero to Creel

Your morning is free to enjoy hiking or shopping. In the afternoon, we continue our journey through the remarkable Copper Canyon area. Words cannot describe the unsurpassed beauty of the canyon, nearly four times larger than the Grand Canyon. Our train ride ends in Creel, the trading post for the Tarahumara Indians. A walking tour and shopping will take place when we arrive. Be sure to visit the mission store, which sells handcrafted goods including pottery and baskets of remarkable quality. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, Best Western or Villa Mexicana Creel, Mexico.

Day 6: Creel to Chihuahua

After breakfast, we board our motorcoach for Chihuahua. On our journey we'll stop for lunch at a local apple ranch. En route we pass a Mennonite farming community where German is still spoken and taught in schools. Next, we arrive in Chihuahua. More than three centuries old, Chihuahua was once the capital city of Mexico. After dinner, we are joined by young members of the fabulous Ballet Folklorico. This group has performed throughout the world and will introduce us to the traditional regional dances of Mexico. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, Casa Grande Radisson Hotel, Chihuahua, Mexico.
