Day 1: Travel to Cape Town, South Africa

The day you have been waiting for is finally here as you depart on an overnight flight to Cape Town, South Africa. Sit back, get some rest and enjoy the in-flight service.


Day 2: Arrive in Cape Town, South Africa

Welcome to South Africa! Upon arrival at the Cape Town airport you’ll be welcomed by your Pilgrim Tour guide who will assist you to your hotel. After checking into our hotel our afternoon is free to rest and relax as we prepare for this fascinating experience. This evening begin to get to know those in our group over a nice welcome dinner at a local restaurant.


Day 3: Cape Town & Table Mountain

This morning, our sightseeing begins with a visit to the Grand Parade, the city’s main public square, to see the Castle of Good Hope and City Hall. Afterward, enjoy a walking tour introducing more of Cape Town’s famous and historic landmarks. Next, you’ll enter The Company’s Garden, a beautiful oasis in the city, en-route to Green Market Square, which at different times it has been a fruit and vegetable market and even a slave market. Today, it is a great meeting place, where curios from all over Africa can be found. Visit the BO-KAAP MUSEUM before continuing your walk in BO-KAAP, also known as the Malay Quarter. Founded by former slaves in the 1750s, this lively area is a true melting pot of cultures. Colorful historic houses range from lime-green and pink to orange, reflecting Dutch and British architecture, and the area has been declared a national monument. After a traditional Malay lunch, enjoy a visit to Table Mountain for a cable car ride to the top (weather permitting) for stunning views of the city and its surroundings.


Day 4: Cape Highlights

This morning we'll embark on a full day Cape Highlights tour. Starting off at Camps Bay, we'll travel via the quaint fishing village of Hout Bay and Chapman's Peak which skirts the rocky coastline and is one of the most scenic drives in the world. At the Cape of Good Hope Reserve, we'll have a chance to get a first hand look at the rare and exotic flora and fauna of the Cape. We’ll continue to Cape Point, the southwestern most tip of South Africa. Here we’ll take a funicular ride to the steps of the old lighthouse for a spectacular panoramic view. We continue to Boulder’s Beach for an opportunity to see a colony of endangered African Penguins, known for the unique sound they make. We return to Cape Town for our dinner and overnight.


Day 5: Free Day in Cape Town

Our day is at leisure to rest and relax, explore Cape Town on your own or take part in one of several optional tours offered.

Optional tour to choose from-

#1. Walk to Freedom tour with Robben Island. This tour offers a wealth of insight into South Africa’s history and past injustices, the legacy of the struggle and the promise of reconstruction and development initiatives under way at present.

#2. Winelands Tour This tour takes you along the country's principal wine route to the scenic towns of Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch with tastings along the way.

#3. Great White Share Cage Diving This tour takes thrill seekers "Shark Alley" to experience great white shark cage diving.


Day 6: Johannesburg, Gauteng and Maslow Hotel

This morning we fly from Cape Town to Johannesburg. Arriving in Johannesburg we’ll visit Constitution Hill which is home to the South African Constitutional Court – the country’s highest judicial body – and the Old Fort Prison Complex. Next we visit the Museum of Africa which includes the Bensusan Museum and Library of Photography, Bernberg Museum of Fashion and Museum of South Africa Rock Art. The large museum's collection includes exhibits of the history of man and the freedom struggle.


Day 7: Soweto Day Tour & Sun City

A Soweto Day Tours takes in the highlights of this iconic township including Nelson Mandela’s former home and the Hector Pieterson museum. We’ll experience first hand Soweto Culture as we meet the people, trying local foods at a shebeen. This tour is one of a kind as you experience the smell of pavement cooked meals and the buzz in the streets of people going about their daily chores. Come and experience township life, the humanity, hospitality and warmth of the people, the "Ubuntu" as it is known in South Africa. This afternoon we depart Johannesburg and travel to Sun City. In the heart of the bushveld, overlooking valleys and surrounded by mountains, lies South Africa’s Sun City Hotel. With spacious rooms and exotic cuisine in any of the themed restaurants, this 4-star hotel embodies perfect luxury. This afternoon we enjoy an evening Game Drive into Pilanesberg National Park.


Days 8 & 9: Safari Game Drives or Rest and Relax in Sun City

Our morning and evening provide opportunity for optional Game Drive in Pilanesberg National Park where we’ll have the opportunity to see plenty of African wildlife from our vehicle including the Big 5 Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, and Leopard. Our afternoons are free in Sun City to rest and take optional activities on our own. Optional excursions in the Sun City vicinity include spa and beauty therapies, golf, Sun City Valley of Waves Water Park, hot air balloon safari, theater, Segway tours, Quadbike tours, Archery and clay pigeon shooting, Parasail, jet-ski, boating and zip-slide.


Day 10: Johannesburg, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

This morning we leave South Africa and take a short flight north to Zimbabwe. After checking into our hotel we’ll enjoy a cruise on the Zambezi River which offers a great opportunity to photography wildlife and the spectacular African sunset.


Day 11: Victoria Falls

After breakfast we’ll spend the day visiting the mighty Victoria Falls for an awe inspiring experience. Our guide will take us on a walk sharing the history of the falls and offering fascinating details of the surrounding flora and fauna. This evening we enjoy a special riverside farewell dinner and time to share our favorite tour highlights.


Day 12: Return Home

Today we depart Victoria Falls flying home through Johannesburg.
